Equipment sourcing & Temperature management for medical freezer

Background:

Meditrade’s Client is a global CRO with a presence in all major Clinical Trial markets. The Sponsor requested for high-end temperature recorders to be sourced across several markets for an ongoing study, to be delivered to the study sites. Dispatched medical freezers are also required for annual calibrations service.

Challenge:

The project needed to be completed within 3 weeks due to expiring calibration certificates. This limited the available options and required a ready, available solution. The Client nor the Sponsor did have the resources within the countries to handle the project.

Meditrade’s solution:

Meditrade was appointed to provide end-to-end service for the project. Due to the short timelines, it was decided to procure all materials locally within the countries. Meditrade activated its network of international and local suppliers for the relevant product category to identify the most suitable sourcing options. The client opted for sourcing of products from a global provider within the countries.

Meditrade handled all aspects of the procurement and product storage & distribution, as well as calibration of the temperature recorders at central, accredited calibration labs. For the calibration of dispatched freezers, the calibration vendors were contracted to perform on-site calibration at the investigation sites.

To facilitate the entire process, Meditrade’s in-country project specialists coordinated all aspects of the project and actively managed communication between the Client, Sponsor, Sites, and Calibration service provider in both English and local languages.
